This course will be offered in Queen Anne's County Staff Computer Lab. There are 35 computers, so this workshop is on a first come, first serve basis, so be sure to turn in your registration form early.
Course Description
Creating a Classroom Website workshop provides the organizational background for creating a classroom website, introduces teachers to creating websites using a variety of freeware, linking to resources on a site, and incorporating widgets into the classroom website. The workshop addresses the needs of classroom websites for all kindergarten through twelfth grade levels; this course is intended for all kindergarten through twelfth grade teachers.
Course Goals/Objectives
Teachers will be able to create a customized classroom website.
Teachers will be able to insert widgets into their website.
Teachers will identify key components to an effective classroom website, suitable from a variety of audiences.
Course Materials
Teachers will need to bring paper, pencil, and District log-in ID to the workshop. All other materials will be provided. Teachers may bring in personal drivers or storage devices. Teachers may also bring in digital images or documents they wish to include on the website.
Course Prerequisites
Teachers attending this workshop should have basic computer skills and experience using Microsoft Word. Teachers should be familiar with their school and district websites and navigation. This workshop is intended for teachers who have not created classroom or other webpages in the past.
